For it was you that formed my inward parts; you knit me together in my mothers womb. I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made – Psalm 139:12-13

During our last tween group we watched the music video above. It talks about being worth more than gold. We then took pieces of paper and put our names on them. We passed the paper around the room and each person wrote something positive about us. When we finished writing each person got a turn wearing a crown. As they wore this crown the things people wrote about them were read out. It was both embarrassing to hear about yourself and uplifting. At times it’s not easy to believe what others see you as.

There’s one more piece to this puzzle though. It’s the way God sees us through Jesus. We are indeed worth more than gold because God, the creator of all things made us. We are loved and valuable because God thinks we are. It’s great to hear what others think of us but when all else fails the value God puts on us will not fail.
