One of the things we do instinctively is countdown. We countdown the days till our next vacation, how many years are left till retirement, when lunch will start, when our 15 minute break will end. We move from one countdown to another and all along trying to fit in all the things we need to get done in the time we have. What would life be like with no countdowns? What if we didn’t count down but up? Instead of a clock moving towards zero a clock adding seconds and minutes into eternity. The sermon below talks about our life of countdowns and how Jesus frees us from this strangle hold. In Jesus we’re no longer moving inevitably towards the end of the countdown but out towards endless days.
