For the next 7 weeks we will be doing a study on Art and Faith each Sunday after church as well as at the women’s and men’s bible studies. Below you will find the photo as well as the reflection questions that came along with it.

Our Saviour's Lutheran Church

What do you see?

What feelings or emotions does this picture evoke?

I wonder what’s going in inside the church?

Scripture: Genesis 9:12-17

God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh on this earth.” God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between me and all flesh that is on earth.”

What covenant is God talking about? What other covenants has God made with his people?

What covenants does God have with us here at Our Saviour’s?

Why would God use a rainbow as a sign of his covenant?

Does God still give us signs today?

What signs has God given you in your life and how have you responded to them?

I wonder what God is saying to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church through this picture?

This picture was taken by Pastor Zimmer from The Well on 5th Avenue as he was going for an evening walk. He gave the picture to Doug Wollam who was attending a worship service there one evening along with a prophesy that God was going to pour his Spirit out on Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.
